Hon. Richard Sebamala has taken bold legal action against what he describes as a deeply compromised Democratic Party (DP) Delegates Conference held in Mbarara. In his petition, he highlights grave injustices in the entire electoral process—from flawed nominations and biased delegate selection to questionable vote counting and the rushed declaration of Norbert Mao as president.
Speaking at a press conference, Sebamala declared:
“This is not just a challenge to a flawed election—it’s a call to restore justice, credibility, and true democracy in our party. The struggle to make DP great again begins now.”
He criticized the lack of transparency and accused the current leadership of hijacking the party’s democratic processes. Sebamala called on all members and supporters of DP to stand united in the push for accountability and reform.
This move signals the beginning of a new chapter within the Democratic Party, one centered on internal democracy, fairness, and the will of the people.
