The Democratic Party (DP), under the renewed leadership of Hon. Eng. Richard Sebamala and Chairman Gilbert Sammy, officially announces the launch of a transformative national campaign initiative: The DP Caravan, led by the Team DP Great Again.
Inspired by the African tradition of gathering around the fire to share wisdom, solve challenges, and build unity, the DP Caravan aims to reconnect the party with its grassroots and restore its founding vision—one rooted in truth, dignity, and servant leadership.
“We don’t gather around the fire because we are hungry. We gather to speak truth, share vision, and shape the future together,” said Hon. Sebamala. “This caravan is not about noise or money—it is about listening, healing, and building a future with the people, not above them.”

Team DP Great Again is sending a strong message: the Democratic Party is not for sale and will not be co-opted by forces that oppose democratic values. The team is committed to restoring the party’s independence and appeal to all Ugandans—without ethnic, political, or financial manipulation.
“We have no business with enemies of democracy. No dealings with NRM actors like Salim Saleh or President Museveni. Our mission is clear: to free DP from captivity and give it back to its people,” emphasized Chairman Gilbert.
